Hillsborough Junior Athletics Club has been running continuously since 1956. We pride ourselves on promoting a range of athletics activities in a fun, safe and inclusive environment.

Come along make friends and enjoy athletics at Hillsborough Park, Carlton Street, Hillsborough, every Wednesday from 5:45pm (7pm finish for Juniors 2-6, about 7.30pm finish for Seniors 7-14). Sausage sizzle, refreshments and socialising after each training session!

The 2023-24  season starts on 11 October but you can still come and see what athletics is all about! The season will run to the end of March with a break over the summer holiday. If you would like more information about Hillsborough Junior Athletics Club, please contact us.

If the weather looks doubtful please check for cancellations on our facebook page, or on this feed on this page just after 5pm on Wednesday evenings.

Parent Help
A parent/ caregiver is required to remain on site while your athlete is taking part in our program. We are a volunteer organisation and your help is required to ensure that your athlete has the best possible experience each week. Parents can help by holding the finish ribbon, recording results, raking the long jump pit, assisting with the BBQ, calling names so athletes know whose turn it is next, starting races etc.
Please talk to the committee (we have blue shirts) about how you can help.

Mission Statement

Hillsborough Junior Athletics Club Inc (HJAC) aims to provide a supportive environment that develops the athletics skills of children aged 2 - 14 years.

Children are divided into two sections – Junior (2-6 years old) and Senior (7-14 years old). The two sections recognise the difference in the physical development and capabilities of growing children. Although the activities are different, the objectives of both sections remain the same:

  1. To encourage the children participate in athletics activities and have fun

  2. To challenge children to do their best and reach their potential with the full support of parents/caregivers

  3. To provide skills and coaching for children (and parents)

  4. To encourage participation in both HJAC club nights and external events
